What is the IASP Pain Research Forum?

Launched in 2011, IASP's Pain Research Forum (PRF) serves as a nucleus for basic, translational, and clinical pain researchers, as well as clinicians and industry stakeholders interested in advances in pain research and management. Guided by an International Editorial Board of leading pain researchers, PRF's mission is to foster discussion and collaboration that will speed the acquisition of new knowledge and its translation into novel treatments for pain.

What is the IASP?

The IASP, or the International Association for the Study of Pain, is the leading global organization supporting the study and practice of pain and pain relief. IASP brings together scientists, clinicians, health care providers, and policymakers from around the world in pursuit of their mission to bring relief to those who are in pain.

Who started the Pain Research Forum? 

PRF was developed as a program of the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center, in collaboration with the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease Informatics group. In July 2017, PRF became part of the non-profit International Association for the Study of Pain

What is the role of the Pain Research Forum Editorial Board? 

The PRF Editorial Board guides the development of new content and features.

How much does Pain Research Forum cost? 

All of PRF's content is free, with the exception of particular PRF Webinars, which have been identified as content of significant value. These particular PRF Webinars are free for IASP members and $25.00 USD for IASP non-members. 

How can I become an IASP member?

To become an IASP member, you can join here. Trainee memberships are $50 per year, while regular memberships are $180 or $230 per year, depending on income level.
