We report a rare case of a patient presenting with a very unusual manifestation of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). A 62-year-old male presented to the emergency department (ED) with complaints of headache, nausea, vomiting, and intractable hiccups for two days. Laboratory results showed that he had profound hyponatremia (Na+: 103 mEq/L) and hypokalemia (K+: 2.3 mEq/L) with a positive RT-PCR for COVID-19. He was treated with an intravenous (IV) bolus of 3% saline solution followed by continuous infusion. The patient was discharged after eight days when his electrolytes returned to normal, and a significant symptomatic relief was achieved.

Vestibular migraine and persistent postural-perceptual dizziness both involve the vestibular system and are similar in clinical manifestations. After acute attack of vestibular migraine, it can gradually evolve into persistent posture-perceptual dizziness; persistent posture-perceptual dizziness caused by various factors can be combined with symptoms similar to vestibular migraine. Studies have shown that abnormal multi-sensory signal integration, abnormal neurotransmitters and genetic factors may be the co-disease mechanism of the two.

Wrist injuries in the competitive athlete are a common reason for evaluation related to an acute injury or after symptoms have become chronic. While radius- and ulna-sided wrist pain are common topics covered in the literature, middorsal wrist pain is more common than the available literature would suggest. Missed diagnoses and inadequate treatment can significantly increase athlete morbidity and delay return to play. The goal of this article was to review the differential diagnosis of middorsal wrist pain in the athlete and discuss the diagnosis, treatment, and early return to play for each condition.

Mucormycosis is life threatening fungal infection that occurs in immunocompromised patients. Patients at risk are those with poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, immunosuppressed patients such as those undergoing treatment for hematological cancer or recipients of solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. COVID 19 infection is known to produce a state of hyper inflammation with release of various cytokines this state of immune dysfunction is associated with development of opportunistic infections, of which Mucormycosis is on the rise currently. The widespread use of corticosteroids can cause secondary infections including mucormycosis. CNS penetration typically starts with nasal involvement followed by the paranasal sinuses and palate, ultimately invading the orbit and brain or by direct hematological spread which is called as Rhino-orbito-cerebral Mucormycosis (ROCM) .

Online learning has increased reliance on computer screens, which can cause visual discomfort and may cause or exacerbate headaches due to prolonged screen exposure. However, time spent using electronic devices has not yet been examined in relation to the online learning experience.

Whether long coronavirus disease pertains to children as well is not yet clear. The authors performed a survey in children suffering from persistent symptoms since initial infection. A total of 510 children infected between January 2020 and January 2021 were included. Symptoms such as fatigue, headache, muscle and joint pain, rashes and heart palpitations and issues such as lack of concentration and short-term memory problems were particularly frequent and confirm previous observations, suggesting that they may characterize this condition. A better comprehension of long coronavirus disease is urgently needed.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a rare, life-threatening mucocutaneous condition causing necrosis and detachment of the epidermis. Vulvovaginal involvement, seen in up to 70% of affected women, can lead to painful chronic conditions such as adenosis, hematocolpos, and chronic pelvic pain. To date, there is no consensus regarding the optimal treatment of vulvovaginal involvement. In this case report, one case of Stevens-Johnson syndrome with vulvar and vaginal involvement is described, and the treatment options for this rare condition are reviewed.
