Back Pain

Through the campaign, we hope to identify barriers and solutions for improving back pain across the spectrum from prevention to diagnosis to management and across all age groups. As a global organization, we hope to provide information that can be adapted regardless of available resources and to focus on individualized, person-centered care. With the integration of the Global Alliance of Pain Patient Advocates (GAPPA) into all of IASP’s work, the Global Year programming will incorporate those living with pain into the work of the campaign.

Throughout the year, IASP will be offering a variety of materials dedicated to research, treatment, management, and of back pain. These materials are intended for a wide audience ranging from researchers and clinicians to those living with pain and the public. We have an exciting lineup of fact sheets, webinars, infographics and other materials that will be free to access and share as part of our mission to educate a global audience and work toward pain relief. Articles in PAIN and PAIN Reports related to the Global Year theme will be designated as such and will also be free to access, allowing everyone to read the latest research on back pain.

In addition, the IASP Virtual Series on Pain & Expo contains a number of on-demand and live topical workshops and poster presentations related to back pain. Please visit the website to find out more about the latest research and clinical practice on back pain.

For members, IASP’s Pain Education Research Center (PERC) has the latest on-demand learning about back pain which can be accessed anytime, anywhere for research on your own terms. We invite you to become a member and access this highly sought after content today.

We hope that you will take part in the Global Year About Back Pain by hosting your own events related to theme, distributing IASP materials in your country, translating resources to your local language, or partnering with IASP on webinars or other communications related to your area of interest.
