Postdoctoral Position: Pain and Opioid Pharmacology

We are pursuing pharmacological/biochemical investigations in the development of novel pain medication. Together with research groups at the Institute for Protein Innovation (affiliated with Harvard University, Boston) and at the Zuse Institute for Applied Mathematics (Berlin) we develop a novel generation of opioids involving computer-assisted simulations and artificial intelligence. The projects are funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (FOR 5177), the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).

 

We are seeking candidates with a PhD degree in pharmacology, biochemistry or related fields. Expertise is desirable in radioligand-binding, Förster-Resonance-Energy Transfer (FRET), Bioluminescence-Resonance-Energy-Transfer (BRET), cAMP production, arrestin-binding, electrophysiology (patch clamp), cell culture, transfection, mutagenesis, primer design, microfluorimetry, statistics, analysis/documentation/publication of research results.
