A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated scientist interested in pain research to join a collaborative, energetic, and productive team to study mechanisms of cancer pain in animal models. The successful candidate will focus on the interactions between cancer cells and neurons that underlie cancer pain and on the effects of resolvins, signaling lipids that modulate pain. The candidate will be engaged in conducting in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological, biochemical, molecular and behavioral pharmacological studies of cancer pain at the peripheral and central nervous system levels.
The successful candidate will prepare the manuscripts, present the data at national and international scientific meetings and apply for independent funding. The successful candidate must be collaborative and able to work as part of a team, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicants must have a PhD in neuroscience or a related field. Experience in rodent surgery, electrophysiology, molecular biology, calcium imaging, and/or pain behavior is desired.
