An Internet-Based Multi-Approach Intervention Targeting University Students Suffering from Psychological Problems: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation.

Despite the widespread prevalence of mental health problems, most psychological distress remains untreated. Internet-based psychological interventions can be an essential tool for increasing treatment availability and accessibility. The main objective of the MindBlooming project is to design and implement an innovative Internet-based multi-approach treatment for university students suffering from psychological or physical problems. The intervention will focus on symptoms of depression, anxiety, sleep problems, self-destructive thoughts, job- and study-related stress and burnout, and chronic pain. It will be based on different approaches, primarily psychoeducation, Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT), and third-wave CBT. At the end of the treatment, user satisfaction and usability will be assessed. In addition, two further aims will be evaluating the treatment efficacy through a randomized controlled trial and tuning a predictive model through Machine Learning techniques. The intervention consists of a 7-week treatment on two problematic areas according to each students' personal needs, identified through an initial assessment. Besides the treatment assigned following the initial screening, participants will also be assigned to a different module to improve their relational skills. The treatment, which can be accessed through a mobile app, consists of psychoeducational videos followed by related exercises. We expect MindBlooming to be a remarkable tool for promoting the mental health of university students.

Gorham-Stout disease of skull base leading to cranial settling and rhinorrhea: a case-based review.

Gorham-Stout disease (GSD) is a rare progressive osteolytic disorder, theoretically caused by lymphovascular endothelial proliferation. Spinal involvement carries a dismal prognosis because of neurological consequences. Lesions of the skull base are extremely rare and entail even more devastating prognosis due to cervical instability and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage. Due to scarcity of this condition, the aim of this study was to give an overview of skull base GSD and review the cases with such condition reported in the literature.

Pain Neuroscience Education and Motor Control Exercises versus Core Stability Exercises on Pain, Disability, and Balance in Women with Chronic Low Back Pain.

Several interventions have been used to relieve chronic low back pain (CLBP). This study aimed to compare the effects of pain neuroscience education (PNE) followed by motor control exercises (MCEs) with core stability training (CST) on pain, disability, and balance in women with CLBP.

Surrounding Needling and Narrowband Ultraviolet B Phototherapy Treatment: Synergistic Effects for Repigmentation in Chronic, Stable Nonsegmental Vitiligo.

Narrowband ultraviolet B (NBUVB) phototherapy is the standard treatment for chronic stable vitiligo, but its efficacy, when used alone, is often unsatisfactory.

Negative Self-Assessment of Health in Women: Association with Sociodemographic Characteristics, Physical Inactivity and Multimorbidity.

Women present a higher prevalence of negative self-assessment of health (NSAH) when compared to men. However, there is a gap in the literature of factors associated with NSAH in women from developing countries such as Brazil. In addition, few studies have assessed the magnitude of the association between multimorbidity and NSAH in this population. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the association between NSAH and sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyle and multimorbidity in women from the Midwest region of Brazil.

Non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction hiding behind myopericarditis in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory condition with various cardiovascular sequelae. Pericarditis is the most common cardiac manifestation, yet patients also have a markedly elevated risk of premature atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). This makes the diagnosis of ischaemic chest pain both challenging and crucial in these patients. Here, we examine the case of a 39-year-old male who presented with acute myopericarditis and pericardial tamponade in the setting of newly diagnosed SLE. Several days later, the patient experienced an infero-septal non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Urgent percutaneous coronary intervention showed 100% proximal right coronary artery (RCA) occlusion with subsequent placement of two overlapping drug-eluting stents to the proximal-mid RCA. This case illustrates the need to carefully evaluate patients with SLE for underlying cardiovascular disease regardless of age or the presence of tradition risk factors. Recognition of the increased incidence of ACS in SLE patients is crucial for early diagnosis and revascularisation.

The 3-Month Effectiveness of a Stratified Blended Physiotherapy Intervention in Patients With Nonspecific Low Back Pain: Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial.

Patient education, home-based exercise therapy, and advice on returning to normal activities are established physiotherapeutic treatment options for patients with nonspecific low back pain (LBP). However, the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions on health-related outcomes largely depends on patient self-management and adherence to exercise and physical activity recommendations. e-Exercise LBP is a recently developed stratified blended care intervention comprising a smartphone app integrated with face-to-face physiotherapy treatment. Following the promising effects of web-based applications on patients' self-management skills and adherence to exercise and physical activity recommendations, it is hypothesized that e-Exercise LBP will improve patients' physical functioning.

Oxygen-Ozone Therapy for Reducing Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines Serum Levels in Musculoskeletal and Temporomandibular Disorders: A Comprehensive Review.

To date, the application of oxygen-ozone (OO) therapy has significantly increased in the common clinical practice in several pathological conditions. However, beyond the favorable clinical effects, the biochemical effects of OO are still far from being understood. This comprehensive review aimed at investigating the state of the art about the effects of OO therapy on pro-inflammatory cytokines serum levels as a modulator of oxidative stress in patients with musculoskeletal and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). The efficacy of OO therapy could be related to the moderate oxidative stress modulation produced by the interaction of ozone with biological components. More in detail, OO therapy is widely used as an adjuvant therapeutic option in several pathological conditions characterized by chronic inflammatory processes and immune overactivation. In this context, most musculoskeletal and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) share these two pathophysiological processes. Despite the paucity of in vivo studies, this comprehensive review suggests that OO therapy might reduce serum levels of interleukin 6 in patients with TMD, low back pain, knee osteoarthritis and rheumatic diseases with a concrete and measurable interaction with the inflammatory pathway. However, to date, further studies are needed to clarify the effects of this promising therapy on inflammatory mediators and their clinical implications.
