Discovering Influential Core-Keywords, Researcher Networks and Research Trends of Acupuncture on Depression Using Bibliometric Analysis.

Depression is a common illness worldwide. Acupuncture is used as an alternative to non-pharmacological therapy. This study aimed to identify the development and global trends in the study of acupuncture therapy for depression over the past two decades using a bibliometric analysis. Articles published between 2001 and 2020 on acupuncture for depression were retrieved from the Web of Science database. Extracted information included authors, organizations, countries, keywords, and journals. The VOSviewer program was used to visualize the impacts and network hubs of the keywords, authors, and affiliations. Analyses of 871 original and review articles revealed that the number of publications has continually increased over the past 20 years. China has published the maximum number of articles, followed by the United States and South Korea. As for research areas, integrative complementary medicine was most well represented in terms of the number of articles. Co-occurrence analysis of keywords indicated that each five sub-group cluster (including "pain related to depressive symptoms," "CAM therapies of depression," "comorbid disease or symptoms of depression," "clinical trials of depression," and "mechanism of acupuncture on depression") has its own impact keyword. The most recent keywords were "protocol" and "systematic review," whereas early keywords were "acupuncture analgesia" and "St john's wort." Co-authorship analysis of authors and organizations revealed 4 influential authors and 2 organizations in the field of acupuncture for depression. The present study provided influential keywords that show comorbid symptoms, treatments, and mechanism. Additionally, it revealed the influential persons or groups related to acupuncture therapy for depression.

Detection of A2143G, A2142C, and A2142G Point Mutations with Real-Time PCR in Stool Specimens from Children Infected with .

Reports have indicated an increasing prevalence of clarithromycin resistance in children relative to adults. Thus, it is important to investigate primary clarithromycin resistance before therapy to avoid treatment failure. A2142G, A2143G, and A2142C point mutations in the peptidyltransferase region of the 23S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) of () strains isolated from children with gastrointestinal symptoms and asymptomatic children were evaluated via real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) using fecal DNA samples. The presence of was determined using a fecal antigen enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit from the stools of children ( = 543). A2143G, A2142C, and A2142G point mutations were detected via RT-PCR and confirmed by sequencing the 23S rDNA. Fecal antigen testing was positive in 101 symptomatic (49) and asymptomatic (52) children. A significant difference was found between the 0-5- and 5-18-year-old groups in terms of the A2143G and A2142G point mutations ( = 0.001). The A2142C mutation was not detected. There was a significant difference in the A2143G mutation between the symptomatic and asymptomatic 5-18-year-old children ( = 0.019). Macrolides are frequently used to treat upper respiratory tract infections in children due to their selective pressure effect. We suggest that strains carrying mutations in the 23S RNA subunit conferring clarithromycin resistance may lead to an intense inflammatory response in the gastric epithelial cells, allowing them to proliferate more rapidly and causing possible diarrhea, halitosis, or abdominal pain in children.

Coexistence of neurovascular compression syndrome and unruptured cerebral aneurysm.

Unruptured cerebral aneurysms (UCAs) are usually asymptomatic and detected incidentally by intracranial examinations. The coexistence of neurovascular compression syndrome (NVCS) and UCAs has not been well described. The aim of this study was to clarify the characteristics of UCAs with the NVCS. A total of 103 cases that underwent microvascular decompression (MVD) for trigeminal neuralgia (TN) or hemifacial spasm (HFS) were assigned to the NVCS group. The prevalence of UCAs in the NVCS group was compared retrospectively to that in 110 control cases (a control group) by neuro-imaging. Overall treatment courses for NVCS and UCAs were investigated in the NVCS group. Sixteen (15.3%; TN 11 cases, HFS 5 cases) of 103 MVD cases had 19 UCAs, a significantly higher prevalence than the 3.6% in the control group. Binomial logistic regression showed that NVCS is a significant factor for predicting the presence of UCAs, with an odds ratio of 4.80. In the NVCS group, 18 UCAs (94.7%) were supratentorial aneurysms, and 17 UCAs (89.5%) were less than 5 mm in size. Nine UCAs were surgically treated with clipping or coiling. Of the surgical cases, 2 UCAs were treated before MVD for NVCS, whereas the other 7 UCAs were treated after MVD. No aneurysms ruptured during the treatment course. The NVCS occurred with UCAs at a significantly higher rate than in the control group. Most UCAs with the NVCS were supratentorial, small aneurysms that did not affect the surgical treatment of NVCS.

MiR-15a-5p accelerated vascular smooth muscle cells viabilities and migratory abilities via targeting Bcl-2.

Aortic dissection (AD) caused by the tear in the aortic wall threatens aorta, causing severe chest pain, syncope and even death. Fortunately, development of genetic technology provides promising approaches for AD treatment. To analyze impacts of miR-15a-5p on modulating cell viability and migratory ability of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Ang II (0, 0.05 and 0.1microM) treatment were applied for inducing inflammatory reactions of VSMCs. RNA expressions of miR-15a-5p with Bcl-2 was examined using RT-qPCR. CCK-8 and transwell evaluated cell viability and migratory ability, respectively. The binding about miR-15a-5p with Bcl-2 were detected by luciferase reporter assay. Western blot detected protein expressions of Bcl-2, MCP-1 and MMP-9. Ang II treatment not only accelerated VSMCs viability and migratory abilities, but also upregulated MCP-1 and MMP-9 protein expressions. MiR-15a-5p was detected to be promoted by Ang II. However, miR-15a-5p inhibitor decreased VSMC cell viability and migratory ability and suppressed protein expressions of MCP-1 and MMP-9. Bcl-2 was targeted and downregulated by miR-15a-5p. Nevertheless, high VSMC cell viability and migration caused by miR-15a-5p overexpression were hindered with overexpressed Bcl-2. MiR-15a-5p mimics also elevated MCP-1 and MMP-9 protein expressions, which were inhibited by Bcl-2 upregulation.
