Abstract

Obstetric fistula is a devastating childbirth injury. Despite successful closure of the fistula, 16-55% of women still suffer from persistent urinary incontinence after surgery. This study assessed the type and severity of persistent incontinence after successful fistula closure and its impact on the quality of life of Ugandan women undergoing obstetric fistula surgery.
