Abstract

Isolated tuberculous granuloma in the falciform ligament of the liver has never been reported. Here, we report a case of tuberculous granuloma in the falciform ligament of the liver of a 45-year-old woman who complained only of persistent right upper abdominal pain. On abdominal contrast-enhanced CT and MRI, it is difficult to distinguish benign from malignant masses. Imaging on F-FDG PET/CT showed high uptake of F-FDG in the lesion, which was thus considered more likely to be malignant. However, postoperative pathological examination showed granulomatous inflammation with caseous necrosis, which was diagnosed as tuberculosis.
