Editor’s Note: At the 2018 World Congress on Pain in Boston, US, the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) launched its Global Alliance of Pain Patient Advocates (GAPPA). This initiative seeks to better integrate the patient voice to inform pain research and its translation into new interventions to treat pain. As part of this effort, IASP is making available three videos in which real people share their personal pain stories. See the videos with Joletta Belton, Pete Moore, and Hussain Jafri below.

Pain Story: Joletta Belton, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Endless Possibilities Initiative

Pain Story: Pete Moore, Author and Founder of The Pain Toolkit

Pain Story: Hussain Jafri, Vice Chair of the Advisory Group of the World Health Organization’s Patients for Patient Safety (PFPS) program and former Chair of the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO).
