In this episode of the IASP-PRF Podcast, PRF-NAPS Correspondent Lindsay Ejoh spoke with Frank Porreca – a dedicated pain researcher and one of top ten most cited pharmacologists in the world. During their conversation, Porreca detailed the process of drug development, the importance of examining sex differences in drug development research, as well as his experience at the North American Pain School.

Frank Porreca, PhD, is a professor of pharmacology and anesthesiology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, USA. Porreca is a prolific pain researcher who has authored more than 500 original, peer-reviewed articles addressing mechanisms of opioids and pain. He has also been recognized as one of the 10 most cited pharmacologists in the world by the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.

Lindsay Ejoh is a neuroscience PhD Candidate based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, researching how opioids influence pain processing in the brain and plans to start a career as a research professor studying mechanisms of visceral pain.
