Editor’s note: Michael P. Jankowski, PhD, is the Theodore W. Striker, MD Endowed Chair in Anesthesia Research, and associate professor and director of Research in the Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, US. His lab is interested in the mechanisms of sensory neuron sensitization with a particular emphasis on nociceptive processing. The two main focuses of his work are peripheral mechanisms of musculoskeletal pain and the sensitization of developing sensory neurons.
