Emerging evidence indicates that cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases exert distinct functions in pain processing and that targeting phosphodiesterases might be a novel strategy for pain relief. This study hypothesized that the phosphodiesterase isoform PDE10A might be a target for analgesic therapy.
