Abstract

An epidemic of CKD in Central America predominantly affects males working in certain industries, including sugarcane. Urinary tract infections are commonly diagnosed among men in Nicaragua, who often receive antibiotics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for urinary symptoms.
