Pituitary abscess (PA) can be fatal if diagnosed late. Rim enhancement is a typical radiological finding of PA on postgadolinium T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Diffusion-weighted imaging is helpful in distinguishing PA from other sellar cystic lesions.
