Abstract

Adductor canal block (ACB) could provide effective postoperative pain control for patients following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, some authors pointed out that the ACB as originally described may be more similar to a femoral triangle block (FTB). Recent neuroanatomical evidences made us to conjecture that the "true" ACB would provide superior analgesia compared to FTB. Therefore, the study was designed to determine the hypothesis that postoperative analgesia following TKA could be improved by a "true" ACB compared to FTB.
