Uremic pruritus is a common symptom in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis (HD) treatment. Etiopathogenesis of uremic pruritus is complex and not fully explained, but there are reports indicating a possible role of peripheral opioid system in its pathomechanism.
