Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory infectious disease which making people difficult to breathe and often accompanied with headache. Acupuncture have been proved the therapeutic effect on headache, but there has been no high-quality evidence on acupuncture for the headache in COVID-19. This study is designed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for headache in COVID-19.

The discovery of TRPV1 as a receptor for capsaicin, the pungent ingredient in chili pepper, and noxious heat has triggered immense research on the role of TRP channels as polymodal receptors in sensory neuronal signaling. The rich abundance of TRPV1 in nociceptive primary afferents and its involvement in inflammatory and neuropathic pain encouraged the development of analgesics acting on TRPV1. However, the development of TRPV1 antagonists has been hampered by hyperthermia and insensitivity to noxious hot temperatures. Notably, the involvement of TRPV1 and endovanilloids in CNS signaling has opened up the possibility to develop TRPV1 drug therapies for treatment of pain alongside various CNS diseases and mental health conditions.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common complications of diabetes mellitus. The main clinical manifestations of DPN include pain, numbness, paraesthesia, and weakness of the lower limbs which often leads to diabetic foot ulceration, eventually resulting in amputation. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, moxibustion has a great effect on treating and preventing DPN. However, randomized clinical trials done to evaluate the efficacy of this treatment are still lacking. Hence, this study is carried out to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of moxibustion therapy on diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Agenesis of the dorsal pancreas (ADP) is a rare congenital anomaly of the pancreas. ADP is associated with some other medical problems such as diabetes mellitus, abdominal pain/bloating, pancreatitis, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor and so on. In this study, we present a case of ADP with chronic suppurative pancreatitis, summarize the clinical characteristics of the reported cases in China and review the correlative literature.
