Dr. Ushida’s research theme of postgraduate course was “investigation of the mechanism of spinal cord evoked potentials.” Subsequently, he learned “pain-related neurophysiology” under Professor William D. Willis at the University of Texas as a visiting scientist. Afterward, he had utilized the electrophysiological technique to investigate spine and musculoskeletal pain. He had tried to develop brain imaging in musculoskeletal pain cases to visualize pain. Lately, he is working on a concrete multidisciplinary pain system for musculoskeletal pain and Spinal Cord Stimulation.
