Lauren Hochman has extensive experience in nonprofit and government sector communications, project and people management, member and stakeholder relations, and strategic planning and continuous improvement. Prior to her tenure with IASP, she worked at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, a part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Pharmacopeia, and the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County (now EveryMind). Through successes in these and other positions at organizations focused on public health, social services, pharmaceutical quality, mental health, and biomedical research, she has supported the health and well-being of children, youth, adults, families, and communities in New York, the Washington, D.C. region, throughout the United States, and around the world.

Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and certificates in legal and women’s studies from Brandeis University, where she graduated summa cum laude and with highest departmental honors. She stayed at Brandeis to complete her master’s in sociology and continued her professional studies by completing several courses on topics related to leadership, organizational culture, and communications. She is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute.

Lauren has been honored with NIH Director’s Awards, NHLBI Director’s Awards, and other credits; however, she considers her family her greatest achievement. Having hailed from New York and moved to the suburbs of Washington, DC, she and her husband have successfully conditioned their two children to root for selected New York sports teams.
