Mission Statement:
Improve the understanding and treatment of pain by contributing to better interdisciplinary treatment services for children and adults with various types of pain. This is achieved by bringing together physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, dentists, researchers, and other professions and disciplines interested in and concerned with pain research and pain management. Encourage and stimulate research on pain mechanisms and pain conditions. Contribute to increased education (basic, advanced, and continuing education) and training that promotes an understanding of pain and pain management in Norway, including organizing an annual national professional pain conference. Help ensure that healthcare personnel, health policymakers, patient organizations, and the general public in Norway are informed about advances in pain research and pain management, as well as contribute to the implementation of such advances.
