Mission Statement:
Indonesian Pain Society (IPS) is a Chapter of The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). The formed was declared in April 2002 in Makassar which become a place of devotion for those who are engaged and concern in the field of pain management which is applied through various discipline/professions in therapeutics, efforts that are causal, symptomatic, palliative and rehabilitative which ultimately contributed to the establishment of this organization. IPS is pain organization that is open to any interested doctors.
The main objectives of IPS are:
To stimulate and encourage education and training in the field of pain.
To develop and encourage research on pain mechanisms and syndromes, to improve the management of acute, chronic and cancer pain by compiling together various experts from various backgrounds and disciplines who are interested in the field of pain.
To distribute new information in the field of pain through journals.
To inform the general public about the results and implications of the latest research on pain.
To encourage the establishment of IPS branches in Indonesia.
