IASP Announces Winners of Three 2020 Congress Awards!

The IASP Fellowships, Grants, and Awards Working Group has selected the winners of the 2020 Ronald Dubner Research Prize, the 2020 Ulf Lindblom Young Investigator Award for Clinical Science, and the 2020 Patrick D. Wall Young Investigator Award for Basic Science.

The Ronald Dubner Research Prize honors the best clinical or basic science research paper, series of papers, or doctoral thesis in the field of pain, published or in press while in training as a student, intern, resident, pre-doctoral fellow, post-doctoral fellow, or equivalent. The 2020 recipient is Jan Vollert, PhD of Imperial College London for his research on neuropathic pain.

The Ulf Lindblom Young Investigator Award for Clinical Science honors an individual who has achieved a high level of independence as an outstanding scholar in the field of pain in clinical science. The 2020 recipient is Siobhan Schabrun, PhD of Neuroscience Research Australia for her ability to analyze, assimilate and fully understand the contemporary neurophysiological science and pain research and to generate worthy, relevant, novel and promising clinical research ideas and hypotheses independently.

The Patrick D. Wall Young Investigator Award for Basic Science honors individuals who have achieved a high level of independence as a scholar in the field of pain in basic science. The 2020 recipient is Thiago Cunha, PhD of University of Sao Paulo for major contributions to the understanding of the roles of immune cells in peripheral mechanisms of neuropathic pain.

All three of the recipients will be recognized at the IASP 2020 World Congress on Pain in Amsterdam, Netherlands from 4-8 August.
