PAIN Impact Factor Increases to 6.029

IASP is pleased to announce that PAIN, the official journal of IASP, has received a new Journal Impact Factor of 6.029, an 8.45% increase from 2017. PAIN is now ranked 3 of 31 in Anesthesiology, 21 of 199 in Clinical Neurology, and 31 of 267 in Neurosciences.

The Journal Impact Factor, as published yearly starting from 1975 in the Journal Citation Reports, measures the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year by the research community through the delivery of a rich array of publisher-independent data, metrics, and analysis of the world’s most important journals included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), part of the Web of Science Core Collection.

PAIN, a peer-reviewed monthly journal, has supplanted its position in the field, as the updated impact factor suggests, as a staple for researchers looking to publish significant findings and broadcast important developments in the multidisciplinary field of pain management.

PAIN was launched in 1975 and quickly became the leading publication for clinicians, providers, and researchers in the pain medicine field. All IASP members have access to PAIN as an invaluable member benefit.
