Would you like to be the next IASP Press Editor-in-Chief (EiC)? IASP Press publishes several books each year to promote pain education for scientists, clinicians, and other health-care professionals.

The EiC is responsible for soliciting and reviewing proposals for new books, appointing an advisory board to assist in such efforts, ensuring the quality of published materials, and providing annual reports to the IASP Council. The EiC is not responsible for any editorial or publishing logistics. A formal description of the EiC’s responsibilities appears here.

The EiC must be an IASP member, have a balance of administrative and editorial expertise, understand the basics of the book publication process, be a published author with an established basic or clinical science reputation, appreciate the basic science and clinical needs of IASP members, and be willing to commit the time necessary to fulfill the position’s goals.

Qualified individuals should submit a letter to iaspdesk@iasp-pain describing their interest in the position, the expertise he or she would bring to the position, and a curriculum vitae with the names of at least three references. Applications must be received by March 30, 2018.
