The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) is proud to recognize five outstanding pain specialists from Thailand as the 2026 recipients of the Cynthia Goh Award for Excellence in Pain Care, Research or Education in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. Named for the late palliative care champion Professor Cynthia Ruth Goh, the award honors individuals or teams that demonstrate exceptional excellence in pain-related programs in low‑resource settings.
The Low‑ and Middle-Income Countries Working Group selects the recipients, and each honoree receives complimentary registration for the 2026 World Congress on Pain along with a travel grant of up to US $10,000.
World Congress is the largest global gathering of pain professionals, connecting thousands of scientists, clinicians, and healthcare providers from around the world. The 2026 Congress, 26–30 October, in Bangkok, Thailand, will feature hundreds of international speakers, thousands of poster presentations, more than 100 exhibitors, and a week of workshops and plenary sessions.
By recognizing these awardees and facilitating their attendance at the Congress, IASP ensures their innovative program is showcased on this global stage and fosters networking with peers who can adapt their model for other low-resource settings.
