From Pain to Empowerment, the 10th Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies (ASEAPS) Congress, held in Singapore from 2 to 4 May 2025, saw more than 450 participants from 27 countries come together to learn and connect. The ASEAPS 2025 Congress hosted plenary and keynote speakers from diverse fields, including allied health, medicine, nursing, and research, truly reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of pain care. There were eight re-congress workshops, including the Cadaver Fluoroscopic & Ultrasound Pain Intervention Workshop, Essential Pain Management in Paediatrics, and a Lifestyle Approach for Managing Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain, among others.
Notably, Prof Andrew Rice, IASP President, spoke in the opening plenary about the 2025 IASP Global Year Focus- Pain Management, Research and Education in Low- and Middle-Income Settings. The progress of pain training and education in the region was highlighted in the Prof Cynthia Goh Lecture by Dr Mary Cardosa, IASP President-Elect.
Join us again in 2027 for the 11th ASEAPS Congress in Indonesia, an archipelago of over 17,000 islands, whose diversity truly reflects the many hands needed for pushing boundaries and transforming pain care.
