Alison Teitelbaum, MS, MPH, CAE, is an association executive and public health communications and strategy specialist with more than 15 years of experience. She joined the IASP in 2022 as the Chief Operating Officer, having previously served as the executive of the Health Care Alliance for Patient Safety. Prior to that, Teitelbaum held the position of Vice President at MCI, an association management company, where she served as the chief staff executive for several health-focused organizations, including the American Health Quality Association, the RNA Society, and the National Center for Homeopathy.
At MCI, she also supported association clients as a resident research, monitoring, and evaluation expert and an association management consultant. Teitelbaum leveraged this expertise to assist organizations with a variety of strategic exercises, such as short and long-term planning, needs assessments, value exploration, and product/service audits.
Teitelbaum serves as a Governing Councilor for the American Public Health Association and is a past chair of the Health Communications Working Group of APHA. She has also co-authored several published research articles. Teitelbaum received undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology from Virginia Tech, a Master of Psychology from Radford University, and a Master of Public Health, Health Communications, and Marketing from George Washington University. She also holds the Certified Association (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives.
