The Latin American Pain Camp is a four-day educational program, held in Guayaquil-Ecuador from 5 to 8 July, divided into three sections. The first section includes a theoretical approach featuring master talks with renowned speakers. The second addresses the theoretical-practical approach. Finally, the third section is an analysis of clinical cases, allowing for global medical education. The Latin American Pain Camp is oriented toward the training of management from acute to chronic pain, with a holistic concept from the basic to the complex.

The Latin American Pain Camp Objectives:

  • Expand the knowledge of the participants about the pathophysiology of pain, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Support local and foreign professionals for the management of patients with pain.
  • Promote the academic resources necessary for unified and individualized management.
  • Improve the quality of life of patients with pain.

Attendees must meet the following requirements:

  • Maximum 5 years after their specialization or professional training in nursing, psychology, physiotherapy, and health-related careers.
  • A clinical practice focused on pain management.
  • A letter of recommendation from two members of your IASP chapter.
  • Not having received similar support from IASP in the last two years
  • Member of the IASP, and member of the society in the IASP chapter of his country.
  • Candidates must be residents of Latin America.

Applicants must meet the requirements and send the required letters with their curriculum vitae; this information must be completed in the requirement form. The number of students is limited to 30, 15 from the organizing country and 15 from the rest of Latin America. The folders will be submitted for evaluation by the Pain Camp committee, and the selected candidates will be notified as soon as possible.
