World-Renowned Pain Researchers and Clinicians to Highlight World Congress on Pain
An array of internationally known scientists and clinicians will discuss new approaches to pain research and treatment during plenary lectures at the 15th World Congress on Pain, October 6-11 in Buenos Aires. Don't miss presentations from these distinguished speakers and others:
- M. Catherine Bushnell, PhD, will deliver the John J. Bonica Distinguished Lecture. Her talk is titled “The Effect of Environment on the Long-Term Consequences of Chronic Pain.” Dr. Bushnell is celebrated worldwide for her seminal work using brain imaging and psychophysical testing to study the neural basis of pain perception.
- Lilliana De Lima, MHA, will deliver the John D. Loeser Distinguished Lecture. Her talk is titled “Palliative Care and Pain Treatment in the Global Health Agenda.” De Lima has improved pain management and quality of life in terminal patients by advancing hospice and palliative care programs, education, and research.
- David Yarnitsky, MD, will deliver the Ronald Melzack Award Lecture. The title of his lecture is “The Role of Endogenous Pain Modulation in Chronic Pain Mechanisms and Treatment.” Dr. Yarnitsky is widely recognized for his research on pain measurement, mechanisms, and therapy.
