Financial Support and Marketing
IASP does not provide any financial support as actual funds for satellite symposium.
Organizers may request support from the IASP office for logistics management if the approved symposia is held in the World Congress on Pain host city, to include: venue rental at the Convention Center or official congress hotel, audio/visual, food / beverage, registration, and speaker management. Costs associated with these support items will be based upon individual symposia need.
World Congress on Pain marketing materials will include mention of the Satellite Symposia. In addition, the Congress Program, registration brochure, IASP Newsletter, IASP website and Mobile App will advertise a complete listing (topics, speakers, location) of all approved Satellite Symposia. IASP will provide one free set of IASP mailing labels for advertisement purposes. Additional mailing labels may be purchased.
Trademark and Marketing Guidelines
Upon approval, Satellite Symposia may use the name of the World Congress on Pain and the Congress logo in their advertising and registration literature. This should read, "Official Satellite Symposium of the 17th World Congress on Pain." It is inappropriate to indicate that the meeting is sponsored by IASP or to use the IASP logo. The standard IASP disclaimer must be included in symposium materials.
IASP Standard Disclosure
If accepted, all program materials, including abstracts and proceedings, for Congress Satellite Symposia must contain the standard IASP disclaimer, as follows:
"Timely topics in pain research and treatment have been selected for presentation, but the information provided and opinions expressed have not involved any verification of the findings, conclusions, and opinions by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP)®. Thus, opinions expressed in this meeting do not necessarily reflect those of the Association or of the Officers and Councilors of IASP. No responsibility is assumed by the Association for any injury and/or damage to persons or property as a matter of products liability, negligence or otherwise, or from any use or operation of any methods, products, instruction, or ideas contained in the material herein. Because of the rapid advances in the medical sciences, the Association recommends that independent verification of diagnoses and drug dosages should be made."
