Nominations for IASP Officers and Councilors Accepted Through March 31
Mar 14, 2016
IASP members can nominate an active IASP member in good standing to serve as President-elect, Treasurer, and Secretary, as well as five Councilors. Nominations will remain open until March 31. Please keep the following guidelines in mind. Nominees must
- be current, active Regular Member of IASP for at least two years
- be able to communicate effectively in English
- have access to the Internet and hold an active e-mail account (most IASP business is done via email)
- be able to commit time to attend one board meeting per year and take an active role in IASP committees, working groups and task forces
You may nominate yourself. Nominees must complete a biographical sketch outlining their educational and professional histories and describing activities relevant to the role for which they are nominated. Additional nominations criteria appear in an email sent to individuals who are current Regular Members for two years. Please let us know if you did not receive this email and believe you should have.
Only past and current Councilors or Officers who are Regular Members may stand for election as President-elect. The term of the Secretary is two years and is renewable for one additional term. The Treasurer position has a four-year term, and Councilor positions are six-year terms. Former Councilors must be out of office for a minimum of six years before they can stand for reelection as Councilor.
IASP explicitly prohibits campaigns for the nomination and election processes.
