IASP® Collaborative Research Grants
Grant: Three grants of up to US$15,000
Application Deadline: March 15
Purpose:
The IASP Collaborative Research Grants support international,
interdisciplinary collaborations in pain research.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The principal investigator in charge of the overall project must
have been a member of IASP for the past year.
- The principal investigator should be at a professional level of
independence (i.e., a faculty level academic appointment).
The IASP Fellowships, Grants, and Awards Working Group will evaluate
all proposals based on:
- The scientific merit
- The qualifications of the investigators
- The evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration.
Guidelines:
- The grants cover travel and accommodation costs to support
collaborative research by two or more research groups located in
different countries.
- Collaborations between basic science and clinical research groups
will receive priority.
- IASP sponsorship will be in the form of a grant to Institute on
behalf of the principal investigator of the project, who is responsible
for managing funds and must submit a detailed financial and scientific
report within two years.
- The principal investigator must submit a final scientific report
that includes information on activities and products generated with the
help of the collaborative research award. These include publications,
presentations at conferences, colloquia, or symposia (or similar
meetings) as well as the generation of additional extramural (external)
support.
- Publications and other products arising from work supported by these
grants must acknowledge the source of funding.

All applications must be submitted in English and include all
required documents per provided guidelines.

Include with your application form:
- A description of the research project (4 pages max, 11 pt. font,
½ inch (1.27 cm) margins)
- Short version curriculum vitae form of the principal investigator
from each collaborating institution (the CV form is available here).
- The principal investigator in charge of the overall project must
provide a letter from his/her institutional official that includes:
- Evidence of professional independence (i.e., a faculty level
academic appointment)
- Non-profit status of the institute
- Acknowledgment that neither the IASP nor the IASP Collaborative
Research Grant will be liable (i.e. charged) for any indirect costs
(overhead and handling fees) associated with the execution of the work
described in the application.
