Pain Concern Podcast: A Heads Up on Migraines
In what is the Global Year Against Headache, Airing Pain discusses the different types of chronic headache and provides advice on how to self-manage the condition. Presenter Paul Harvard Evans talks to several specialists including Dr Giles Erlington from the National Migraine Centre, who says although there is no cure for migraines, the key is to managing symptoms. Listen to the podcast at www.painconcern.org.uk

iPhone Headache Diary
An interdisciplinary team lead by Patrick McGrath, PhD, and Anna Huguet Rosello, PhD, at the Centre for Research in Family Health is developing a distance psychosocial intervention for adolescents and young adults with recurrent headaches. This so-called Wireless Headache Intervention (WHI) will be delivered entirely via the iPhone and the computer. The team members are currently testing one of components of this program: the iPhone headache diary. This application (app) allows patients to conveniently track their headaches and provides helpful reports. For further information about the app and the study, view the WHI site at: www.crfh.ca/whi.

Online Headache Pain Forum
An international and bilingual (Italian and English) social network, noheadneckpain.com offers an educational and support forum for head, shoulder, and neck pain patients. The forum offers an opportunity for patients to describe their issues and ask questions; clinicians can view the material provided, express their opinions, participate in debates, and present their own clinical and research data. Originator Professor Franco Mongini of the University of Turin, Italy, hopes that this initiative will help patients in their daily struggle to abate and prevent headaches and cervical pain.
