IASP
Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Visit the website or contact the chairs of the following SIGs for more
information. Membership in SIGs is open only to members of
IASP.
The SIG
on Sex, Gender and Pain seeks to encourage basic and clinical
research on how sex and gender affect pain mechanisms and all realms of
its management, to provide a central information resource on these
issues, and to develop multidisciplinary discussion groups on subtopics
of these issues.
The SIG
on Pain of Urogenital Origin (PUGO) seeks to provide a forum
for members to engage in discussion on the diagnosis and management of
pain of urogenital origin, to focus on obtaining data on the types and
magnitude of these specific problems, to initiate discussions and
multicenter clinical and basic studies in order to advance the knowledge
into their cause (often unknown at present), and to secure more
efficient and globally accepted therapeutic approaches.
