Dr. Amira Karkin-Tais organized the "Meeting on Comprehensive Pain Management" in the outskirts of Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) on April 15-16, 2010. There were approximately 100-120 attendees, including the minister of foreign affairs in BiH, his Excellency, the Ambassador from Japan, Mr. Futao Mutai, and his Excellency, the Ambassador of Austria, Dr. Donatus Koeck.

Dr. G.F. Gebhart, IASP President, made a 25-minute presentation about the IASP, emphasizing benefits
of membership, including opportunities for travel and fellowship awards, and the Global Year theme
and its importance to the work of IASP.
